With all this lock-down bollocks in the UK my friend is cooped up at home and has had to start talking to his wife. He’s just found out that she was made redundant by Woolworths.

It's an interesting paradox.  Both in the UK and here we have politicians running the country who seem to think that politics is all about 'presentation' (if you want to be unkind 'bullshitting').  Bu

Howard Quayle and his comms team need to take a long hard look at themselves into how they are handling this.

I assume the Horse trams will be okay this season with social distancing in place, the two passengers will be able to keep to the 2 meter rule.

if they don't run they will lose less money this summer than when they actually operate,

you'd need a sleeper tram to do that and move in.

Why on earth would anybody want to listen to a surgeon or doctor from the Isle of Man? They don't know much more than the general public.

If you want to hear from an expert, follow Dr Anthony S. Fauci, M.D., NIAID Director.

Idiot. Maybe you should self isolate from normal folk for a few years.

i would also like to know the medical reasoning behind self isolation for travellers and the over 70 age group.

a) Protect the island - all arrivals here are coming from an infected country, so to be better safe than sorry arrivals must quarantine

b) Protect the vulnerable - older folk are at more risk of covid being a serious disease so this will reduce the numbers getting it and thereby keep ITU from being filled up.

An analogy I heard yesterday was that if you see a tsunami out at sea coming towards you, you don’t wait until it hits the beach before running for the hills. These rules are fairly severe - some would argue for stricter measures such as shutting the ports completely and closing bars, the theatre etc - but are reasoned/reasonable. We’ll see over the next few weeks if we’ve got it right. If in a few weeks everyone is moaning that government went way over the top then we will have.

Normal people are idiots so that doesn't make any sense.

Just been in Tesco for a few bits and honestly shocked that people are so selfish and shallow that there no toilet rolls, kitchen towels. Rice, pasta, eggs, flour, beans, spaghetti and most other long life goods. So very ashamed of my fellow Manx people doing this.

Was told that the sad bastards are waiting at the doors for opening time, rushing to the toilet roll shelf, then getting to the back of the queue and trying to buy more.
If anyone who knows me , sees me getting that sad, please effing shoot me. Shocked and stunned.

Are you “ self assessing” instead of “ self isolating” ?
