I havent been on a bus much since lockdown 1 ... but the ones I have been on have a huge perspex screen between drivers and passengers ... no virus is getting through that even if the driver wasnt wearing a mask. Could this variant be more resilient on surfaces?

Those screens are not much protection. As I mentioned earlier this is an air borne virus. Unless the screen has no holes (they have large holes in the bottom and sides) and the driver has a separate air supply then all that is going to happen is every time the door is open any virus particles will blow around the edges (look at the research around this and also why visor's are useless (same principle)). The drivers are not wearing N95 masks neither are passengers so they stand a high chance of infection.

And then mix with each other in a canteen, by all accounts, totally ignoring the fact we are in a pandemic. (although Unite appear to be trying to put blame on management) Thanks to the bus drivers that have now helped the possible extension of our lockdown.

Looks like we can’t come up with a simple exit strategy like the Channel Islands so we need outside help, more consultants!!

https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/uk-group-approached-to-help-with-covid-exit-modelling/

Yes, even more megabuck ''Consultants'' which we the public are forced to pay for because they have not got even the most basic clue about what to do or how to do it or even when to do it. Neither the Chief Minister or the Health Minister or Dr Ewart or CEO of the DHSC or the the endless layers of highly paid managers in DHSC have a clue - so this is what the Manx Public get. A delegation of their duties and farm it out to outside Consultants and any blame can be shifted onto them.

That will not wash with the ever increasing fully aware and thinking members of the Isle of Man public.

I am struggling to understand what you want. On the one hand you are critical of the Government, Public Health and DHSC, saying that none of them have a clue. But on the other hand, when there is a suggestion that they might involve someone who does have a clue, that is a waste of taxpayers money, and an exercise in shifting blame.

Also why is the exit strategy being launched/discussed in chats with Henrietta, Mark Lewin & James Davis? Why isn’t CM doing it in front of press like Channel Islands heads??

What makes you think the Isle of Man has more expertise that the UK who themselves are using the same "consultants"?

It's just idiotic moaning and trolling without thinking.  Scary stuff really.

I can't see any need for consultants. We will need to unlock the borders sometime.  When we do we will have to learn to live with the virus.  Importantly the adult population will have been vaccinated (nutters excepted)

The people expect VALUE FOR MONEY. We already pay for umpteen so called EXPERTS. Have you looked at the enormous size of the DHSC, the Cabinet Office, IT / IS functions and etc etc etc.....................

I think it's time to open the borders and fall into line with the uk, who actually have a lower rate. Open the schools, go back to work but keep pubs etc closed for a while til over 40s are vaccinated. Then open up as the uk relaxe.

Am I reading it correctly that it is only those with symptoms who are tested even though the rest of the household are self-isolating?  If that is the case, then everyone in the household is free after 21 days, even though one of the household didn't contract it until say, day 10, meaning they are out at day 11 of their infection.

Thanks for explaining. I can see now that what you want is for the exit strategy to be produced by people you believe are clueless.
