At a loose end because the prom was shut down?

Hmm. All that fencing on the prom. All those empty hotels. Surprised they didn’t recreate internment.

Can you guys start a separate thread titled "Jersey is ace - oh no it isn't" and leave this one to a discussion on IOM and the coronavirus?

...and I so wanted a long illustrious career at the DHSC   I run my own company so my involvement with the DHSC to set up and keep the COVID19 lab running wasn't exactly in the professional caree

I'll put a big disclaimer here that I'm not the person who decides who gets tested and when.  Saying that, I am a scientist who understands that if you test someone on the day they arrive and the

Joking apart, we were talking about the possibilities for military history 2 day visits on the podcast yesterday. There’s a lot to see. Could be a bit of niche tourism.

Tell you what, stick a felt museum and a monorail hub onto the side of the camp and we'll have a winner.

A responsible plan from our govt would be to say "ok, we will just see how jersey do and if all goes well after two weeks we will give it a go too" that way they can genuinely say that they made the decision on real world evidence. The moral implications of 'letting them go first' might be a bit squiffy. There would be moaners who would say our economy would be two weeks behind everyone else but when you look at it, so were our infection rates so...

The gvt is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

The only cases here to be related to nursing homes. The hospital geared up to cope with a large increase in numbers and they appear not to have materialised.

More and more people are not following the rules. Builders travel 2 or 3 to a van or wagon. On site they work very close together at times. More and more people seem to be meting up why practicing social distancing.  I cannot see the point really of keeping restrictions in place much longer beyond requesting people still social distance, you jeep the borders close and you limit the numbers who can gather close together or be in a shop etc

Not true.  During questions at a briefing earlier this week, Ashford said there were 19 active cases related to Abbotswood (plus there's another one elsewhere), but the total number of active cases is around 40, so half of them are not related to nursing homes.  And four deaths, including the most recent,  were not related to Abbotswood.

Most of the recent cases are related to Abbotswood. They maynot be residents but they are workers, relatives etc. It is all part of the News management by the Govt in not really being open about the figures.

These people coming off cruises and appearing in our own gutter press complaining about spending two weeks in a hotel even with certain restrictions should think about the twenty odd people who are very poorly in Nobles hospital, I am certain each and every one of those patients would give their eye teeth to swap with them.    Some left the Island in March when others were cancelling holidays to live the high life on the high seas when people were dying on the Island these moaners make me sick they are disgusting and of course encouraged by the media, low life.

Absolutely spot on with that. Some people seem to have the whole day now to compose their bile and put it onto so called "social" media.

More international news about the risks of relaxing too early. Following on from South Korea closing bars and nightclubs again is a story from Germany, another country widely praised for it's response. Trying to get back to normality football teams are training again, but the entire Dynamo Dresden team has been quarantined after two players tested positive. That's like it happening to Sheffield Wednesday.

So that's two of the countries who are seen to have handed this pandemic well, a few weeks ahead of us in their relaxation measures finding it's not easy, those calling to get back to normal would do well to pay attention.

I don't think you can compare countries with 10,000s of cases to iom which has 39 active cases of which 18 outside hospital.

we need economy going and shops etc open
