Are you having a laugh?

The “crisis” in India rectified itself by just running it’s way through.

They are currently only getting 100k cases and 4K deaths a day!!

That is an awful long way from “ripping through” even if you assume it is under reported an multiply by 5!!

Their data is screwed. Deaths and infections aren’t being reported. Thanks for your comments but I’d prefer to listen to someone working in the thick of it rather than someone who spends their waking days on a local forum bleating about it.

You will notice several have disagreed with you and made some very valid points.  Yet to see anyone agree.

Meh.  Pub prices are hardly any different to any UK city with the possible exception of Wetherspoons who buy in in huge volumes and much cheaper than the others.

Prices vary depending on where you go, if you want cheap go to one of the cheaper pubs

Thanks Mr Expert on informing me about drinking.

Tbh I wouldn't laugh at Rox's post, as what is happening in India is an awful human tragedy,  cataclysmic some would say.

But the fact remains, it is not a good comparator for what would happen in the UK.

On the 28th June when do we think there will actually be an update.  Loads of people are booked in both directions.

Even if they do bottle what they had hoped, there are loads of interim steps they could take to ease things forward and placate some people.  Like allowing those double jabbed, or tests in UK before travel.

No reason why they couldn’t implement some of this this week or next.  Data, not dates remember and a few weeks of several hundred people a day coming in has caught very few cases and causes no issues.

Listen.  If there is one subject I am specialist in and able to comment on its beer prices.  You said dropping the price of a pint to less than a fiver would help pubs and that is simply nonsense as you don’t pay anywhere near that anywhere unless you buy posh beer in a posh bar.  Same as in the Uk.

Same round in each bar.  BC obviously included food.  1 pint and 1 gin each time.

I'm sure we had been promised that they'd update us on the 14th to let us know whether it was going ahead. UK tests before travel makes sense, as does being double jabbed. Though, second one wouldn't sit well with a lot of the younger folks, until they've had the opportunity to get their second.

The younger folk get a test pre travel, the older don’t have to because double jabbed.

Plenty of places already using it as a way to allow travel without isolation.  Why do we always have to be so behind?

Though, have you seen the cost of a private PCR test in the UK? It's a bit different to the thirty quid here per test.

Edit: Well, they've dropped in price, but they're still not particularly cheap compared to on Island.

As if boris really wants to keep restrictions in place

Of course he doesn't , but having completely fucked up over the delay in shutting down travel to and from  India , he's covering this arse to any more criticism further down the line . The man is an absolute failure both as a human being and prime minister .

Do we have any idea at all when Comin, fuelled by the EAG, will come out & destroy the hospitality sector further by announcing extended border closures to our disease riddled cousins from beyond the water?
