They’ve admitted there’s no modelling or calculation behind it.

I would suspect that rate of hospital admissions is their only real metric, and that may be arbitrary figure.

Similar was said in Tynwald today, they didn’t consult with EAG as they felt they didn’t have time!? yet they’ve had months to prepare? Surely they don’t expect anyone to believe they’ve gone from an elimination to mitigation strategy without any prior predictions/forecasts/plans in place first?

That hospital metric is a really bizarre one to use. By the time the hospital is full where are the rest of infected going to go?

The rate the UK are seeing is 16 per 1000 new cases (or they were in June). Massively down from the peak of 80 per 1000 in January. But given we're heading rapidly for 2000 cases by the end of the week it is a big concern.

However... That being said thanks to the introduction of the LFT's it seems a lot of asymptomatic cases are being picked up.

Well at least someone is doing what the Government has told them to do I suppose, carry on ignoring the numbers like a good boy.

Why does this nonsense still persist??

"Isle of Man residents arriving on the Island who have travelled to any country outside of the Common Travel Area (Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, and the United Kingdom) in the previous 10 days are required to isolate on arrival, either for 21 days or for 7 days if they agree to have a test on arrival and again on day 6, at a cost of £30. "
