It seems to be forgotten though that for 99% of the population it’s not going to kill you

It seems to be forgotten that 372,000 people have died already and around 4,000 more are dying everyday.

Just because it hasn't affected you directly yet, doesn't mean it won't in the future.

Sure.  Why do the WHO recommend one metre out of interest?

"There is a wide variety of recommendations in different countries, but a simple guide is that the closer you are to someone who is infected, the greater the risk.

The World Health Organization says that a distance of one metre is safe, while others suggest 1.5m or 1.8m with the UK opting for two metres.

Also the longer you spend in close proximity with an infected person, the more your chances of catching the virus go up.

That's why the UK government says that where face-to-face contact is essential, "this should be kept to 15 minutes or less wherever possible".

And one leading scientist says that timing can really make a difference.

"Spending two seconds one metre apart is as dangerous as spending one minute two metres apart," he says."

It was supposed to be a metaphor that there is many dangers out there every day but we don’t worry about them.  I could have said crossing the road.  Which have no cars on but you won’t cross because there might be a car around the corner.

whats going to happen in the winter when the other stuff comes around that can kill you like flu which does kill people every year are you going to hide away from that also just in case.  I would suggest so far in life you have not

The vast majority are elderly or have underlying health conditions, anyone under 60 unless they have serious health conditions has a very minute risk of serious complications from the virus with children nil.

15 people a week die in the IOM on average.

What is your source for this? I had a look for deaths rates and stuff and outside of a small section in the Director of public health report I couldn't find anything.

You look both ways before crossing normally, yes?

Use a crossing where you can, yes?

Would you say you take steps to reduce your chances of being hit by a car?

I will get a flu shot, and try to reduce my exposure to people who display flu-like symptoms.

You didn't think that one through at all.
