I heard grumblings last week about her abandoning the constituancy prior to lock down.

Allegedly she left the Island before the borders closed so that she could have access to medical treatment if needed and has not returned.

Don't know if it is true, and sympathise if requires specialist treatment, but so did other people.

I sympathise as well, but I would say if it’s true, i would it’s deceitful if she has gone across for treatment, especially keeping quiet. A lot of the Manx population have gone without hospital consultant consultationsü, myself included. If this were true, she may have had private health insurance, a luxury her constituents could ill afford.

Above all else she should have stood down next year prior to the general election. Perhaps there is more to this story and more to come out?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sticking up for her, I just can't abide gossipy Manx-crab nosiness and jealous tittle-tattle as displayed in 2112's post. Rife on this Island.

How is it "deceitful"? As for "keeping quiet," I'd say she has every right to keep her own personal business quiet, what business is it of yours? If she has private health insurance, really,

Lowey couldn’t fucking spell Moscow, let alone be in their pay. He certainly wasn’t an agent for the towel heads though.

If she has private health insurance, really, again, what business is it of yours? That her constituents could "ill afford it" (is that a pun?) is unfortunate, but at the same time, she'll have paid her premiums every month (probably only slightly more than a monthly full Sky subscription) or been covered through her personal or work insurance, so it's not like she got her health cover for free.

Envy or jealously..?

What utter bollocks.

Deceitful? How do you work that one out?

It is interesting how quickly this thread veered off onto the future of the constituency and its MHKs.  Saint Kate is a non-entity who has achieved nothing other than alienating almost everyone that she has ever met.  There was a certain pantomime fun associated with her Tynwald appearances (similar to Peter Karran, who he?) but, to quote the bard, it was full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

She claims successes, but her memory doesn't seem to serve her well.  24 Hour stroke thrombolysis came in during the Boy Vampire's time.  Diabetic retinopathy is a condition, so I hope that she didn't introduce it - but the consultation asking if we should have screening for it here didn't even start until just before the bunch of flowers.  As for consolidating endoscopy services - don't forget the scandal on her watch that it was wrapped in - the 'forgetting' of hundreds of patients who weren't followed up.  As for the items of serious patient safety, she doesn't say what they were - so who knows?

A bitter, twisted person having a last squeak before complete obscurity.

BTW - the mere fact of being ill doesn't stop a bad person being bad.

I don't know if she went across or not, but I'm not sure it would have been a good idea simply to access health services.  The UK have been restricted even more than us, even private work has shut down.  I have colleagues in the UK who haven't seen a patient face-to-face in months - we've at least carried on here, if reduced capacity.

Certainly well hidden, wrighty. The great Manx public could be forgiven for not noticing.

"deceitful if she has gone across for treatment"  perhaps "treatment wasn't available on the island.

I was advised by my GP that there would be a colossal wait to see a consultant ( 'gut problem) unless  I went "private" , so I paid (on island) .

I've just been similarly advised that  getting a hip done on island  could take years and there are no facilities to 'go private on island'.

FWIW I have always chosen not to have health insurance .

As for "keeping quiet " , that is her privilege  , why should she go public and encourage some folk to claim she is playing the victim card for a sympathy vote.

Can't say I'm a fan of Beecroft/Costain but think that your post is a bit of a cheap shot, just saying:flowers:

I always got the impression that said lady was the mariyonetka, not the kuklovod (puppetmaster).

As for the services she says were introduced under her watch, I suspect that they would have required time to set up, both technically and administratively (and we all know the tardiness of some departments) to get them into operation.

Or back into operation, I do wonder what some staff have been doing since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak?

Hardly a major vote of confidence in our Covid contingency planning as an ex Minister of Health if true but you have to do what’s best for you in these situations.

I will not be joining her pity party, she is so fucking thick she will not admit she was not fit for purpose as Health Minister, and done has nothing but snipe at everything that was going on.   Good riddance to bad rubbish.   It was great hearing some good news on Manx Radio for a change.
