Airport “forgot” to open?

Recommended Posts

It was only a matter of time, been saying it for years. This is what you get when you try scrimp and save and dont hire a make sure the front door is open executive with at least 2 deputies.ideally youd want a couple of make sure the front door is closed executives on board as well. Brought it upon ourselves no sympathy from me.

If ATC etc were there, why didn’t they just land at Iom and wait on plane for the bloke with keys to turn up rather than sit at Manchester Airport?

Because there will be very strict protocols covering this sort of situation and ATC wouldn't be able to allow a passenger flight to land (except in extreme emergencies) without there being all the appropriate measures in places so that the passengers can be processed.

Or the person with the keys has to remove the "sorry we are closed" sign from across the runway

So, who is the director of the airport, Baker, Reynolds or Spake?  Tried to find out on the IOMG website and it does not list the management structure.

We should just be grateful that the airport is there for us. no need to let operators and customers get in the way of it operating.

I assume it is Reynolds again after she seemingly moved back from her previous post of director of ports

Technically I think Reynolds.  Spake's LinkedIn describes him as "Deputy Airport Director (Operations Director)" and even though earlier in the year I assumed this was some sort of fake account, it seems to be active and hasn't been taken down.  Maybe he really does speak 14 languages and has no relevant experience.

All is revealed. We fucked up. But after the apology by IOMG in the headline and the early part of the release it’s made to look like a joint effort via a promise for IOMG and Aurigny to work together closer in future.

So 2 hours incarcerated in a plane on the tarmac at Manchester is a brief delay?

Why is that information so hard to find?

I'm not.

It should have been in Jurby which is much less frequently affected by fog.
