With developments accross this last 24 hours I would personally rate the chances of TT happening at less than 50%. The senior medical guy is talking about vaccine coming on stream next spring at earliest.  Bojo is cancelling Christmas etc. This got me thinking,  when does the decision to cancel have to realistically made?

Bike teams and riders need preparation time

Marshals need training and organising

Airlines need to be fully operational as do hotels

The hospital together with specialist medical staff needs to be prepared

Fans need some kind of guarantee that the event will actually take place

I'm sure there are many othe other logistical issues.

Its going to be very interesting watching how the government prepares for next year. If it is cancelled the loss of income will be huge. If on the other hand it does go ahead but no one comes the financial hit could be even worse.

At least the promenade will be finished by then.

It’s another element of our future which we are going to have to come to terms with if the event is not going to run next year. If it doesn’t, then we are in an interesting position on a number of lev

I doubt it.  Most people haven't heard of the Isle of Man.  Our brochures are not prominent in travel agents.  I lived in the NW of England for 10 years and it never came on to my radar at all.  Befor

It's a difficult one to call, things could begin to return to some sort of normal very quickly and people would want that if possible. MotoGP and F1 are running events based on TV income but they could easily allow spectators very quickly. It's not practical to run the TT with no spectators but I imagine the decision will be made in a similar timescale to this year?

Most of hotels will be closed permanently if position doesn’t improve soon. What with promenade closed, borders closed & tt cancelled its no wonder lots like trevelyan are selling up.

It’s already gone in my opinion (possibly forever) if they don’t act quickly & come up with a solution that allows visitors to the Island without the need for drawn out quarantine durations.

We’ve still got the stockcars or something.

I doubt it'll return next year - I see Germany has extended it's furlough scheme to December 2021

When it does return it'll need to come up with a net zero carbon plan like what Formula 1 has

I doubt it’s been decided yet, but they’ll be thinking about it and in my view it’s at risk. Would seem strange to can it in September, but is it better that than waiting until March?

If it doesn’t happen next year I think it’s gone for good, except they may continue it in some form of celebratory fashion rather than the 2 weeks of motorcycle madness it currently is.

The crux will be the availability of marshals (without whom the event cannot run) with their personal decisions on whether to travel or not (if UK Govt hasn't already made the decision for them at the time) and the qualification of competitors for the event's licence requirements.

If those two aren't met, there's no way it can go ahead.

I think qualification shouldn't be a problem, racing is taking place now around the country and abroad.

WTAF does he actually know? He always says what he hopes, not what he knows. He has to, otherwise he would be saying nothing at all.

No doubt he'll do a runner and claim to know nothing very soon
