Re the supposed desire that David Ashford expressed as becoming a Tory MP when at school. (Think William Hague)

I don’t think it’s that odd ( but not something I would have contemplated) Certainly not a stick to beat him with

Moreover not a credible excuse for all the vile insults and personal comments being  aimed at him now in these pages.

Got an office job where you were able to work from home and your income was't affected?

Some of us got completely screwed by the two avoidable lockdowns we've had this year. There's a lot of anger out there. You haven't a fucking clue.

William Hague - "The man whose hostility to Brussels has been central to his career is at least in part to blame for Britain’s pickle over Europe" i.e. Brexit - The Guardian.

Have you taken the many years depreciation charge into account?

Are you taking into account the fact that it never worked from the moment it was handed over to DBC? Who then also paid up over a sob story that the "manufacturers" would go bust if they didn't?

Your hero squandered an eighth of a million of ratepayers often hard-earned money. Try taking that into account.

Also it's not just Assface who deserves the stick, that dickhead education minister who said 'schools are perfectly safe go to school' only to shut them 2 days later with 100 odd infections deserves a beating. In fact the whole fucking lot of them who MET VIRTUALLY while saying everything is fine 2 days before LD3 should be dumped out immediately.

Some of the mistakes have been massive.

Your preposterous support is actually insane.

As you have been poisoned by the toxicity of some of the contributors to Manx Forums

The only poisoning I've suffered is by you beloved employer who are systematically destroying everything  that was once great about this Isle!

It’s also worth noting the knock on effect it’s caused, most trades are booked up for at least the next 3 months, coupled with shortages/increasing costs of materials, so in a way even the office bods have been affected, they’ll be waiting longer and paying more to get jobs done.

There's nothing 'supposed' about it. It's why he went off to Edge Hill to study politics. Ask him about it, he does't tell lies.

Ask him about Prince Charles while you're at it.

It's an odd boy whose ambition at school is to become a Tory MP.

Most certainly. And, ironically, it raises a red flag that here is an individual to keep a careful eye on.

Did he have his pin up on his bedroom wall?

There is a lot of frustration out there which everyone gets.

Re “avoidable lockdowns” and being “ completely screwed”

There is a killer virus out there, difficult decisions have to be made. What is avoidable to some is unavoidable to others. Yes there was miscommunication re the IOMSPco issue but by and large the Island has been served well by those making the decisions. For example the vaccination programme is making good progress.
It serves no purpose venting your anger on office workers able to work from home and not having their income affected.

You're right, of course. Morally, you are 100% correct.

What holds the people together are morals on every level.  We rely on that model to keep us safe.

I do know you are just, calmly and very nicely (for a change) putting an opposing perspective, and we need that as god forbid MF would turn into somewhere like QAnon with everybody thinking the same.

But, a line has been crossed.  Many lines have been crossed, and the people have seen it, and they don't like it, and they don't like it even more because they also know that there's not a cats chance in hell of him being held accountable.

He may have made a scripted apology, but he didn't mean it, and people can see that too. So they are slightly pissed off and, in the absence of any retribution, they slowly start taking their own.
