Max Power 6,581
It seems that the Noble's Park to Cemetary Bridge has been deemed as not needed. This should have been properly maintained instead of being left to rot, like the scoreboard. I wonder if the temporary scaffolding one is still in storage?
Scotty 495
People like Max Power should be listened to and given some credence, given his great input to the racing. Most politicians know little about these things and should ask those in the know for their opinions.
Dirty Buggane 200
Talking about the score board, Why the fuck is it taking so long to knock down. According to Gov it was in such a poor state it was in danger of collapse and killing large swathes of the population. Or has that thin covering on the fencing strengthened it so much they will have to get JCK in at a cost of £1.2million and specialized imported plant. Used to take them two weeks to dismantle and remove to storage up at the old Nissen huts at the site called the homes, behind the old children's home. And all done by the Douglas Borough Corporation.

The DOI have long had the ambition to create a connected up Douglas by pass or ring road. They daren’t actually call it that. This would be the final link, ironing out the kink from Braddan Church, through Braddan Bends, Jubilee Oak, past Braddan School to Ballafletcher Road. Dressing it up as improving the TT Access Road is just sleight of hand. All the alternatives will slowly disappear until a flyover/relief road from Vicarage Road, at Meadow Crescent roundabout, to the Braddan Road/Ballafletcher Road roundabout is the only option. Its not a new ambition. It was floated when the hospital was built. It’s why the Road from Fort North, along Cooil Road, to Isle of Man Business Park and Vicarage Road, has been over engineered, with mega roundabouts. It was always the plan. There won’t be a problem with land acquisition, there’ll be a development trade off for housing on Kirby Farm. And it’ll be sold as part of the national post Covid reconstruction/redevelopment infrastructure project. You mean like this? That would be a huge project.

Befitting of only the DOI.....their own version of the Ribblehead Viaduct. Edited November 12, 2020 by Non-Believer Extra bit

It will need a 250 meter suspension bridge over the road/industrial area, and maybe 200 meter of cable-stayed bridge either side due to the slopes. What was the original DoI estimate for re-laying 1.5 mile of prom.?
asitis 5,759
Seems a relatively proportionate response to the problem, after all in Ballasalla they had a traffic problem to solve which lasts for ten minutes in a morning and ten minutes in the evening ! Easily solved by building 350 houses on greenfield land and buying property and land to knock down to have a bypass ( well if they ever keep their end of the bargain) ! Just get Cregeen to champion the suspension bridge it will be great !!

It could be part of Nick Black's fabled Birch hill - Farmhill light railway. A two-layer bridge with rail on the lower level and road on the top deck. A masterpiece. More likely to be Tacoma Narrows part deux.
Kopek 2,138
Course crossing. Widen the bridge. Schedule the races to allow a half hour 'crossing' period at various points between the races. That's crossing NOT joining the course. This used to happen some years ago, didn't it?

A great idea, sadly it doesn't cost enough, it needs a mahoosive price ticket to even get a chance of a run by Government ! Common sense aint common and sadly in Governments eyes in nearly every way too cheap !! Edited November 12, 2020 by asitis punctuation
