A costly jetski visit to the Isle of Man.

It's a bit more nuanced than that.

In theory, you could grab his data from the Google activity log if he's got it enabled, but you'd need to get access to that, which is a whole other kettle of fish legally speaking.

Tracking the phone based on the network provider really isn't accurate to more than a mile or so. You're basically working out the signal in relation to 2 or 3 masts, and making an educated guess on that. So it'd be 'somewhere within that square mile or so'

But that's accurate enough to ascertain whether he was in Scotland when he set off, and his approximate path across the sea to his arrival at Ramsey, all with time stamps - which potentially rules out the

a) he was here all along

b) he got dropped off by a trawler theories...

Its likely he had a Jerry can with him, that would’ve been enough, nobody would do that journey without doing a little bit of research. The Journey also took 3 hours not 4.5 hours, he left at 8pm and arrived at 1am, well that’s one one article stated, the one above is different no chance it took 4.5 hours.

I do call bullshit on the walk though, there is no way someone has the stamina to ride for 3 hours solid, then walk over an hour over (the climb out of Ramsey being an absolute killer), then meet up with his lass who was none the wiser (surely he’d be a sweaty mess), then go out for the evening, then no doubt making up for some lost time, christ some stamina that fella!

To be fair the girl is at least quite attractive, I’m quite surprised no-one has made a meme about her parents being out and she’s home alone yet.

Why would he take a jerry can of fuel with him, if he thought it was only a 40 minute journey ?

Article does support his version of events.

He was seen with the jetski on the Isle of Whithorn at 7 am, his car and trailer were spotted there and a coastguard search undertaken for him, which only ended when the spoke to him in the Isle of Man.

Although -

"He went out with Jessica to two bars in Douglas on Friday night until 1.30am on Sunday."

After -

  • Driving through Thursday Night
  • 4 1/2 hr jetski ride
  • 15 mile walk to Douglas

To then party for over 24 hours is impressive.

Ashford did say that he'd had a negative test on arrival at Jurby. Moulton asked him about the nightclub jaunt and suggested had he tested positive then all those who'd frequented both nightclubs would have to be tested and then go into self-isolation. Ashford's reply was that he'd "fortunately" had a negative test.

Easy to imagine the consequences of Moulton's suggestion though.

We can only hope the jetski romeo's tests continue to remain negative during his incarceration...

He is the best and everyone is right behind him, - worrying comment especially where he currently resides...

As long as she was keeping quiet and keeping her head down, many of us gave her the benefit of the doubt, that she'd been innocently caught in the crossfire here.

However, this interview shows she's a complete dimwit, who doesn't seem to recognise that he (and she) have done something incredibly reckless. To even suggest that he should be 'let out' for Christmas, or allowed to stay, when he is released, just reinforces the point.

Should probably be up in Jurby, as an accessory.

I think that if he did bring in a huge outbreak by their visit to 1886 or wherever, leading to deaths and swamping of the hospital, they'd both be better off in Jurby! I'd hate to think what would happen to them, they must be thick as! If they had isolated and been responsible, there could have been sympathy and a degree of understanding.
