Operations at Nobles

Does anyone here require an operation of any kind at Nobles?

The reason I ask is that I was wondering what is being done and how waiting lists have been impacted.

I know someone who needs an operation and they've been told, in their case, operations had been on hold, they hoped to commence soon and the waiting list was over a year.

I'm kind of wandering - given covid hasn't seemed to have  impacted on the hospital in terms of covid admissions, what is stopping operations taking place?

Any ideas folks?

The waiting lists are massive & getting longer, my mother has been waiting for cataract operation for 12 months & probably another 12 yet. Ashie was talking about sending patients to Ireland at one time but think that was his usual bull shit!

Given the hospital has been relatively normal during the last year (perhaps aside of the initial lockdown) I wonder why operations are not happening?

I am informed that no elective operation that requires overnight stay has taken place for quite some time due to bed shortages. I hope to hear more on this topic tomorrow

The place is huge surely the bed count must be in the hundreds?

But one covid patient renders the place impotent?

What about the private wing? I was informed that operations that required an overnight stay were going ahead

I’m supposed to have a OP appointment at the end of this week, whether it goes ahead is another matter. I’m supposed to get some XRays done - is Radiology open?

I thought he spewed chewing gum as opposed to his usual bullshit.

Someone needs to ask the question in HoK about the state of affairs in Nobles .

Is it all falling apart ? Prolonged exposure and uncertainty for the last 12 months due to Covid and the continued and badly timed transformation seems to have raised questions such as this about other services and the state they are in.

The comments by DA about capsule endoscopy were interesting and Mr Hooper seems intent in getting the correct information. Not sure he did though
