No problem with David Beckham - great footballer, one of there best of his time.

It was really his "posh" missus I was referring to.

Funnily enough, remember the two thrones at their wedding....

Untamed egoism is rampant these days, but not on this website of course.

Find it fascinating how much of an uproar this has caused while Prince "He who cannot sweat" is mooching about still noshing a 10" deep dish

He said what we’re all thinking. “Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government”

The whole thing is bollocks from start to finish. A fully produced and scripted interview with each line crafted for effect by Hollywood P.R. agents and lawyers; all directed, choreographed, costumed,

This whole game is scripted and controlled by her, a minor Hollywood celebrity with a dream fantasy who's snagged a royal and making a jolly bundle out of it. Quilp's phrase a few posts back describes what's happened to Prince Hal, and it's happened to plenty of men before him. One night in her tent would hypnotise most young lads. She'll make a mug of him and send him home packing while she does the celebrity interviews and Hollywood parties and finds herself a string of toyboys to amuse herself with.

Victoria Beckham is indeed the modern prototype for the Meghan Markle's of this world but the sad truth is that it's a very old story.

This makes no sense...  If her "dream fantasy" was to be a Princess then how do you explain that they have "quit" the Royal Family?  There is a contradiction at the heart of your argument.

Much more likely is that the two of them met, fell in love and then tried to live the lifestyle of royal family members but Harry got upset at the treatment of his wife by the media (again refer to the link before for example of how her treatment was dramatically different from Kate's).  Harry has said he could see history repeating itself and specifically referred to his mother and how he felt a need to protect his wife and child (soon to be children).

At the same time Meghan is struggling to adapt to life in the Palace, specifically having to deal with people telling her what she can and cannot do.  These people, it would appear, were not even members of the Royal family but employees of the Palace.  Meghan see people like Andrew getting protection from the media and law enforcement agencies by the Palace and yet feels that she has been left without protection or a voice to respond to the media coverage of her and her relationship with Harry.

A poorly worded conversation happens over the colour of their first child and around the detail of a title for their first child which is reported to Meghan via Harry.  That results in them both feeling further isolated and uncomfortable with Palace life.

So two people who are in love with each other but deeply unhappy with their circumstances decide they want to get away.  Doing so results in further criticism because "how dare they!"

Their lives are unlike our own.  If you or your wife was unhappy with work then you can just quit and find another one.  No-one is going to criticise you for that decision.  If you are unhappy living in or near the 'in-laws' then you move house.  No need for public scrutiny.  If you want to promote a charity or cause close to your heart then you can do so.  No-one is going to accuse you of being a wanna be celebrity.

Comments like yours seem to stem from envy of their position in society and some strange belief that their lives should be entirely available to the public.  Well they now get no money from UK taxpayers and are reliant on their own sources of income like everyone else.  If you don't like what they do or the life they choose to live then that's fine.  Don't buy anything they promote.  Don't support any charities they promote and don't engage with any media about them.

At the time David and Victoria became a couple it was Victoria who was the most famous of the two.  David was well known in England but didn't have the global brand he does today.

Take a listen to Gary Neville talk about Beckham and you will hear his best friend say that Beckham always wanted to be more than a footballer.  Your narrative about Victoria Beckham is wrong.

I just can't stand the royal family/firm. It has no place in modern society IMO.

Far better we somebody along the lines of that fuckwit Trump or the geriatric Biden every five years

Lads, posh spice bagged someone out of her league. Thats why becks gets away with shagging.

Harry is the posh spice in this relationship. He won’t get away with shagging. Meghan will.

These two comments strike me as coming from very insecure men.  Why must he be under her influence?  He is a grown man who served in the armed forces.  I am sure he is capable of making his own decisions.

Maybe he saw how his father treated Diana and decided that he did not want a relationship like that.

(By the way its International Womens Day.  I am sure that will wind the pair of you up)

Some men need leading, he's probably one of them. By all accounts and with all the other shit going on in Iraq Richard Dannatt wasn't too pleased that he had to 'handle' young Henry.

Megan Markles sister was interviewed and provided evidence that she had lied in regards to comments she made about her.

She has spat the dummy because they aren't in line to do anything, they are the equivalent of the likes of Edward and Andrew. She seems to have issues with a lot of people through her life.
