Cretter's Column

Cretters Column is on the IOM newspaper’s website. The headline is about how the IOM punches way above it’s weight in sport. Granted he recognises some Manx success stories, but some have been omitted. Also as with most of his narratives, it refers to his tenure as a Minister. What’s that got to do with Manx success? Does Sport have a definitive increased budget under the MLP manifesto? Most Manx sportsmen and athletes want to achieve goals and win, and some eventually get to represent Great Britain at their chosen sport - Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh to name two. Was Cret responsible for their success?

He'd like you to think so.

Basking in the reflective glory of others achievements, while portraying that he played a part in their success. If we use Football as an example, one or two Manxies have gone on to sign professional terms with various UK clubs. Will our politicos ride on their coatails? These few Manx professionals have worked hard at local amateur Manx/Schoolboy football clubs free from political interference. Unless Cretters is a big noise in the Manx Football community, like he is such an influential member of the Manx Motorcycle Community?

since when has he been  an influential member of the local motorcycle community ? you never see him at any motorcycle events  neither does he seem to support them ,sadly he is a figment of his own imagination !  and I cant understand the newspapers giving him so much  coverage , just shows how lazy and ineffectual the local media have become and I think its a sad state of affairs when they let him abuse his position to promote the daughters election campaign without hearing a peep out of her !

He likes to think that he is, but his contribution amounts to having presided over a crappy time, on the strength of being voted in by pensioners. I can't think of anything positive which has happened because of him?

Of course you can’t. The man is a talentless lightweight.
