The problem with all this type of campaigning based on single high profile cases is that it overlooks the blindingly obvious. It’s not the sex, disability, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity or religi

Men are not the problem. Abusers, rapists and those that sexually harass are the problem. The fact that the majority of these are men, does not make men the problem per se. If that were true, all men

If legalised and regulated, would brothels be considered as workplaces ?

Conceptually or legally?

Either way, probably yes.

Interesting point and somewhat highlights an issue with legalised brothels...

Would the women be self-employed, workers or employees?  I don't think I would be comfortable with them being employees as the relationship between employer and employee is based on control.  A zero hours contract?  Uber Sex Workers?  I can see pro's and con's for each.

Properly run and regulated brothels would be a far safer environment for the women to ply their trade

It seems a particularly false and ignorant argument to pursue really the legalized prostitution one. Although I suppose it’s an appealing thought for any frustrated pensioner hoping to use their next MICard top up to secure the purchase of legal handjobs. In by far the majority of cases women don’t get attacked just because some bloke fancies a shag. It’s infinitely more a violent mechanism for generally extorting fear and control over a vulnerable woman. So you might as well say that free boxing clubs or martial arts classes to get rid of aggression are probably more effective in curtailing attacks than legalized brothels. I’m sure the appeal of legalization is there though for those where it may well be their only hope of anything.

Is that your answer then ? Free boxing clubs and martial arts classes ?

My suspicion is that this is just a troll looking for an argument. Check out the six posts he has made so far
