I read stories like this and tell myself: It doesn't really cost much in the grand scheme of things to make the whole experience a lot better.

Three airbridges for €1.8m as part of a €10m investment.  Isle of Man Government would struggle putting up one airbridge for £10m, let alone 3.

They could put one out from each corner of the terminal (2 total) and vastly improve passenger experience for not much spend really.

You might be right, but we're talking about Isle of Man Government here...new access roads into the airport would probably need to be built to accommodate any new airbridges.  It's the way we do things.

I would have thought there are more pressing areas that need investment to be honest maybe an improved landing system to ensure flights can land in bad weather?

They rarely manage to  turn the EZY flights around in the time allowed now using both the front and rear doors. Be even worse if they only used the front with an airbridge

Isn't it proven that air bridges expedite deplaning versus stairs?

Ryanair opt to use in-built stairs on the 737's because airports traditionally charge more for use of airbridges.

The main thing is that for 10mln euro's they're making substantial improvements at that airport, it's barely a toe dip really. For circa £15mln we can get the landing system sorted, improve the airport and we have a much improved facility to see us forward...?

easyJet coming in from Liverpool delayed taking off this afternoon because IOM tower had to close for 20minutes longer. Silly place.

I think a relatively minor impact from this . More concerning is the delays that Loganair have racked up today it’s been another poor day from them .

The terminal building was designed to incorporate air bridges when the appropriate types of aeroplane e.g. A319/320, B737 became regular operators at Ronaldsway.

The terminal building was designed by an imbecile who created a narrow doorway through which all arrivals and the majority of departures to all try and pass through. And then added a cash point to further add to the congestion in the doorway
