Well two young lads having a second chance in life might not be such a bad thing, at that age they’re still impressionable, so putting them in jail with a load of other criminals to learn behaviours from probably isn’t the best idea.

That said, somewhere in the world they still owe their supplier for the gear, how they plan on paying that debt back without getting caught again is anyone’s guess.

To a degree, I agree, but the amounts involved make it sound like they are only a part of a much bigger set up.

Looking at the IOM Newspapers piece, it's all very odd.  The prosecution said they wouldn't oppose bail, but the defence then didn't apply for it.  The case had already been delayed from February (ignore the title, IOMN have clearly got coke on the brain).  Williams seems to have later plead guilty to the cannabis charge (but not the ecstasy) and he was already on bail for other charges (which he denies).  But I can't see why Gawne would not want bail.

The trouble with this case is that it isn't just the odd 'making a mistake' there's been a whole string of them.  Certainly it has become much more difficult to get reliable and cheap forensic science since the privatisation of the UK service in 2011, but there are other things here that are clearly the fault of the police or the DHA and the AG's Office for not sorting out the legal side of things.

100% a bigger operation and 100% some gullible teenagers who saw a way to make a quick buck, to be recruited at such a young age and with such high values it’s effectively grooming.
