At least they pay Manx Corporation Tax - Oh no wait, they don't. Oh well at least Whittaker pays full income tax on his earnings here - Oh no wait, he doesn't does he.

Oh well at least the IOM is rolling in money from being a "low tax jurisdiction" - Oh no wait, we're skint aren't we.

You have forgotten that other well trotted out mantra as regards HNWIs - ‘trickle down effect’ spending in the local economy. Some tradespeople and craftspeople have had difficulties getting paid, some HNWIs don’t like parting with money.

How & why does that compare against CL?

Just pointing out that large companies not paying corporation tax is often likely because they're crooks.

But the OP is suggesting that CL is owned by Peel Group (which it isn't) and linking it to that PAC quote. The latter may be true but the former certainly isn't.

Although your link shows it predominantly was until recently and predominantly is owned by John Whittaker still. I can't see any of this makes much difference to the moral point of the OP.

I suspect Whittaker contributes plenty to the tax take here.

Imagine only paying 200k in tax.

Or to put it another way, imagine how much he'd be paying if he was taxed at the same rate as the vast majority of other people here.

It's not as if he needs the much lowered rate he receives, he could afford to pay his fair share much better than most.

Margaret Hodge is or was the public face of it.

No one should be tolerating any nonsense from her about tax.

Aside of all of that, it's BS anyway.

How so?

He does pay his fair share.
