Glenfaba & Peel

Recommended Posts

Hey there Roxanne, nice to see you posting again.

When you say Mr C, do you mean Crookall? At first read I thought you meant Cowin. I was initially excited about him running, but after listening to him at two meetings, I'm sorely disappointed. I've had no other experience of Cowan.

I am warming to Crookall this time around. I'm wondering if he's perhaps older and wiser and now better placed to make a difference. My second vote is between him and the other Mr C, Leo Cussons of the Green Party.

I had to go back to Peel Golf Club about 40 minutes after the meeting last Friday to retrieve a personal item I'd left behind and Kate and Tim were at the bar, deep in conversation. I've no doubt they'd work together well. I also think she'd probably work well with Leo.

Could the power station site - with investment - be used for sewage processing? Is it large enough?

Isn't the problem with the power station site the proximity to the Food Park?

Same here. Really disappointing.

I came in a few minutes late last night, just as Cowin was finishing his introductory ramble. As I missed the beginning, was any reason given for "Mikey's" absence? None was given at the Manx Radio event.

Has he withdrawn? He may as well. He seems to be hiding from the electorate which doesn't bode well for the future should he get in. I doubt he will anyway.

Saying that, according to twentyfourkeys*, he's ahead of Boot down at the bottom of the pile: Mikey, 4.05; Boot, 3.02

*We plebs have been warned off the site, but what's the harm? I'm not taking it too seriously and I'm not a gambler. I didn't even know it was a betting site and I don't see any links to somewhere to bet.

Mikey Lee apparently had a heavy cold, ao withdrew from the meeting. I saw him outside the School looking pale, before he was driven away..

Listened to Beth tearing into Tim in a interview earlier seems some candidates get a heavier grilling than others especially ones who have any criticism of government and seek change, like Zarley said in his post, I am also warming to Crookall a much better alternative to Booty and Hammy. Personally although Mrs Davies is by far to best political interviewer manx radio has bar none  I don’t think she should be doing them considering her hubby is up towards the top of the tree in government. Kate and Tim would be my pick.

Good to see you too!

Yes, I was talking about Crookall - I should have made it more clear.

I'm glad you're warming to him. He truly has the best interests of the island at heart, he works his damn socks off, and, as you've said, he's better placed now.

What programme was the Beth Espey interview on?

With the dumbing down of Manx Radio, I have really missed the one on one interviews that they used to do when candidates could be challenged. Maybe they have done them and I have not heard but they are not anywhere obvious. I used to be in favour of the funding of Manx Radio for its speech based news and other programs but morning mandate has gone, Sunday opinion and mandate have gone to be replaced by essentially generic music shows.

It's not good, I'm struggling to find stuff

Hope MLC SHarpe will bring her public media report back to Tynwald, updated perhaps to account for the horrors of today

No, just no. It would be nice to have one administration where they don't have an investigation into Public Media.
