Plan B is to consider what I want to do if Plan A doesn't work out. Time enough for that after 23/9.

Have you had assurances from Manx Radio that they'd take you back if you lose? Did you compare notes with Tim?

I have to be honest and say that the election materials produced don't seem to really tally up with "I currently run my own international design company, designing for brands such as IKEA and working with clients all over the world, as well as helping many businesses and charities on the Island. I also work part time for a small cleaning business."

To me this one comes across as smug. Granted has experience of voluntary public service, but we need practical do-ers, not do-gooders. I personally think that if she was offered a government ministerial role, I have doubts as whether she would take it. I think she’s more suited to sitting out of the tent and carping. If she was in the big tent she would have to toe the COMIN line - and she likes to sit on the committees. Still as a constituency MHK and Parish Pump she can only be marginally better.

Not sure about that - JPW always appears to me as a figure of the establishment

However, kudos to her for actually getting out to seek a real mandate

She'd be really good as a person to drive government business through

Let's hope it's government business we can support

I did. And Tim Glover resigned from M.R. before declaring.

Also remember that until late August we're all just 'prospective candidates' until the Returning Officer accepts our nomination forms and makes it official.

Did you resign specifically to stand as an

MHK?

Effectively yes. I didn't resign as such, I recused myself and suggested I take unpaid leave but was told as a freelance presenter I wasn't entitled to it.

She has never held a Government / Departmental position other than equality champion which comes with no uplift. Deliberately so and not through want of being asked or so I am led to believe.
