Including Rob Callister's blog from 2019 in which he says he'll "try" to not be swayed by the barristers representing the interested developers. Hope he hasn't succumbed to the legal-speak. The list of applications from Dandara are legion, as per the government page linked... https://www.robcallister.im/mhk-blog-16th-to-22nd-sept-2019/ https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/departments/cabinet-office/area-plan-for-the-east-inquiry/inquiry-evidence-documents/ http://www.iomtoday.co.im/article.cfm?id=50951&headline=Concern over impact of new Camlork road§ionIs=news&searchyear=2019 https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/camlork-saved-for-now-say-campaigners-but-future-uncertain/ And the future remains uncertain. Has been for years. Something's got to give. It has smouldered on the back burner for years, ever since Govt dezoned the area for development, HK pursued a long case for compensation following that IIRC but I can't remember if he was successful or not in that? With Govt seeming to be happy about zoning the Plains of Heaven out Marown way for development, one might think that they wouldn't have a second thought about Camlork if enough pressure was applied? AlanShimmin
So why isn't Camlork suitable for development? Other than some people just don't want building in their backyards.

If you have then it would be completely obvious why it isn't suitable.

Possibly because all the storm water runs of the fields and dumps it on Strang road, this is already overloading the existing drainage system which at the time installed was probably capable, the storm drains run through peoples property on the lower side to reach the river thus causing untold problems for the residents of Strang road. If you are in doubt go up Strang road after a few days of heavy rain and see if I am correct.
Non-Believer
But how many marshes and flood plains have Dandara been happy to build on to date? Not defending them in any way but land drainage engineering and knowledge has hugely increased as well of course to be fair, what used to be considered unsuitable building land can now be rendered usable with the appropriate technology. Mount Rule Road is as bad (there's also flooding problems at Strang crossroads very regularly) and the other potential access would be the TT course. Er........no.

Didn't the proposal for Camlork come with a new road? Like the Ballasalla one?

Westmorland road doesn’t work all that well, the code gets changed at most once a week and it’s obvious some sort of code sharing is going on, because by 9.30am the car park is absolutely full. As for Nobles, people car sharing and using the bus should be actively encouraged, it just needs to be moved away from the main car park and to the likes of the overflow instead.
