The other more specific thing is the proposed width of Pulrose Road, 6.4 metres is narrow, very very narrow for a 2 way road that has lots of HGVs and buses. Measure it out. I typed this into Google.....This is what came up, not sure if its for a normal road but seems okay Edited July 31, 2021 by Boris Johnson

Non-Believer
Can't see anything in those regulations about "decorative concentric circles" as roundabout markings? There's also a minimum width of 6.75 metres for anything used as a bus route (which Pulrose Rd surely is?) which would suggest that these proposals aren't compliant in that respect? Also "coloured surfaces" to define user use....more coloured concrete, presumably?

I could be wrong.
AlanShimmin
On the subject of Peel Road, the cycle route needs to be along the back of McDonald's, Milestone, KFC and under the old railway bridge. Bring it out at Tesco by the bus depot. Better to have a fully segregated route than this dangerous monstrosity. 1
CallMeCurious
You mean the route of the old Peel to Douglas railway line? Oh no, thats far too sensible. Also whats wrong with pedestrian underpasses on main arterial routes? They can be cut and shut.

Kopek
Can the 'Ordinary Man' be expected to trawl though reams of regulations to determine what any Dept are up to? Isn't that why we elect MHKs? Edited July 31, 2021 by Kopek

Kopek
Ok, after they have dealt with Dog Poo and Police on the beat, isn't that why we elect MHKs?

We elect MHKs on the basis of personality, past record claims (which may or may not be exaggerated or accurate) and doorstep promises which may or may not have little chance of being realised unless they are picked up by the Chief Minister elect and incorporated into his policy on a patronage basis. In short, take a chance.
Banker
Can we please have Richmond hill, promenade & the Braddan school road finished first before anything else! Also they want to do major road widening on tromode road which will cause major disruption around that area
Boris Johnson
The new house needs to look at this Active Travel policy early doors. It is never going to happen, the island is TOO HILLY. Yes there are electric bikes now but that sort of defeats the object. Out of town parking and Park and ride should be looked at again with dedicated bus lanes to encourage the take up. We need to get the pollution out of the town, including the power station. Get a wind farm built off the West coast ASAP.
