NoTailT
Title should probably read 'Treasury borrows unsustainable amount for sustainability'. Copy of Gov release at https://www.gov.im/news/2021/sep/07/treasury-prices-400m-of-sustainable-bonds/ Edited September 8, 2021 by NoTailT

I thought that was covered elsewhere I read recently. BoE is giving banks cash for free to lend. HSBC and their clients minting 6.6m/Yr out of this, nice! WTF
they haven't paid the 400m back for the power station yet and we pay our electric bills directly to the debtors, how the fuck are they expecting to pay back 400m with nothing to sell ?? maybe they hope the banks will write it off like they did for african dictators back in the day Edited September 8, 2021 by WTF
Cambon
Maybe the green project is to pay off the MEA debt and repay at the lower rate. But that would require thought. The only green project they should be doing is planting fast growing trees like eucalyptus, which absorb huge amounts of carbon from the atmosphere.

John Wright
It was all fully explained and debated and approved by Tynwald on 15/6. It’s all there in Hansard.

The Government have published their paper today on how they are going to spend the money , I just hope they have managed to recruit a few project managers or scheme auditors before then , otherwise the taxpayer will be getting ripped off again ,and taken to the cleaners , like we have seen so many times recently ! The government / private sector committee is so big they will have to hold their meetings in the villa marina !
