I'd say when there's so much going on 'at home' that you're partly responsible for (or for overseeing at very least), you should be at home facing the music, rather than being a manchild posting with Mickey rubbing it in to everyone that actually you just don't care. That's my 2c worth. Ashford never has cared about anyone other than himself when it comes to his career, same is true today as it always has been. So what music does he have to face? is he just expected to sit around his house? he has gone on holiday, big deal.

No you don’t get it. Members of Tynwald can’t sell kids jumpers on Facebook and they can’t go on holiday either 😂
John Wright
Governance and management, lack of accountability, not learning from previous mistakes are all common themes in the report of Professor Hugh Mascie Taylor into health service delivery in Jersey. The response is similar to ours, an independent Health Board. The analysis of management, managers and management training is informative. Basic summary, we need managers, we don’t have too many managers, but they’re ineffective due to lack of training and lack of management information. Its like looking in a mirror with DHSC and Manx Care. https://www.gov.je/SiteCollectionDocuments/Government and administration/Review of Health and Community Services Clinical Governance Arrangements within Secondary Care.pdf 2

The problem with DHSC was worse than people being promoted beyond their capabilities, it was people operating in a malign and self-centred manner and getting away with it because that fitted so well with how the government operated. 4
