Sam Turton has written some good coverage.

Yes, I've been impressed by that as well and I missed a couple from my comment (his indexing isn't always consistent).  But One Man and his Imaginary Mongoose can only do so much - he had to stop today's coverage early for example because of other commitments.

He was also adamant that with modern technology, it was unnecessary for her to be located here.

The current health minister holds this view too, despite it being glaringly obvious that is is wrong

You just hope that this hearing will make people think a little more deeply.

There were rumours that the reason why he was so definite was that the post had already been agreed for Magson (maybe even before the election), so the status quo had to be upheld as viable.  Even though it clearly wasn't.

The fact that no one has yet been announced rather suggests this was the case and Magson backed out since, leaving them with nobody.

They were going to keep her on??? That's a mad rumour.

There was a pretty long twitter discussion about it a while back, with Hooper saying having such a senior role being run from anywhere is great and he doesn't see what the problem is, and everyone else disagreeing.

Not going well for the government, by extension.

Human Resources senior manager should be fired for allowing this shambles to get to this stage, must be costing a fortune, rumour has it that  gov is paying 10k a day for U.K. lawyer to defend them at tribunal, by the media coverage, it’s a waste of money even trying.  Defending the unjust.  U.K. Medical board sent over top barristers to put Ransons case. They wouldn’t do that if it wasn’t a solid case.
Hooper is like a chocolate fireguard letting his dept try to defend the treatment of highly qualified doctor.
Money wasted could have saved lives.

Then there was the pantomime last year of is she, or isn’t she still employed.

Ashford was insisting there’s no problem, she’s still employed, I’m having meetings with her etc etc
