Currently scouring Amazon for a selection of sharp pencils in a variety of hardnesses and a ruler - a big one - and one of those slanty desks to practice on at home.

... and an industrial use rated shredder !

The obvious point objectors always fail to realise, is that before such buildings were built there was nothing there. So the heritage has long, long gone.

Promenade is another example. Transport buffs want to keep trams. Yet before the promenade there was nothing there.

In neither example do the objectors seek to demolish the quayside or the promenade to return it to it's accurate heritage state.

It's double standards

That who area has the makings of a delightful riverfront development with buzzing cafes and restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating. With the right vision and the will, it could be outstanding.

But it isn't,

Who is going to have any money to fill these bar and restaurants. Flats will be bought by a Japanese tuna packing company's pension scheme for rent or holiday let investment. And which resident would want to park there vehicle 800 metres from where they live, just park on non existent pavement thanks to another shared space failure as most of the traffic at night time. No traffic control after 5pm anywhere.

We did have a lovely historic harbour till DOI jumped in and fucked it over like they are doing to every port on the island. And whats the betting Thomas's dolphins/boat protection measures will encompass dredging out to 10metre depth and length that correspond to the size of a cruise liner.

What a f$@%^& coincidence.

North Quay is bustling now and one of the most popular places on the Island in the sun, hence why Kelman are seeking to invest presumably. What would you prefer there, the equivalent of Ramsey harbour?

It's just planning doing their job, considering everyone, you, I and everyone else, would you want it any other way???

There will be a re-application, it will prevail in the end!!!!

What's the problem???

I mean it was a lovely historic shithole until that scheme.

It's about the only area DOI have actually improved through their efforts

All kelman are doing is building flats, the outlets are just a salve to planing.

This is true of all developers, they pay lip service to first time buyers homes, knowing that not too many FTB can afford a quarter million to start with. They patronise local politicians (half wits) with what they will do for the community i.e. Ballasalla bypass ( I concede we need a bypass to get around their xxxxxxx traffic lights). It is so easy for developers to manipulate government here, government see them as an important part of tax take and the weak  minded politicians are too dumb to see past the promises they make in order to keep the profits rolling in !

The interconnect between what the island needs and developers is long lost, development is ruled by what developers need. I don't suppose having another half wit in charge of planning will alter the situation any time soon.

( note to self stay away from forums before coffee )

Unfortunately, they did not 'jump in'
