Nom de plume
I had a Flat White in Noa some time ago. I can only describe the vessel that the coffee was served to me in as a 'thimble'. Think they had the audacity to charge me around £3. It was my last visit.

Also there is a hit and miss element I went to one place with friends and it was fine, was not cheap but the meal and service was really good so took friends there two weeks later different experience altogether. I always ask friends if they enjoyed their meal if they mention they have been out and the usual answer is …it was ok or it was alright. If establishments are going to increase prices they will have to put a bit more effort in it is not a easy business to be in and some will fall by the wayside there is more competition now than there used to be. It's all about consistency. If you have a very good meal one week, you expect a very good meal on your next visit. This is where a lot of establishments let themselves down

Kopek
....also these people are less likely to complain about a 'slight' inconsistency in their bacon bap !!! However, a 15 quid Lobster Coral and Champagne Souffle starter in Epernay might invite closer scrutiny??? Although I doubt many would notice the difference!!! There is so much wrong with that statement I don’t know where to start. I suppose eggs is eggs as well? Chicken is chicken? A carrot is a carrot? Are you saying that if you bought a £10 carrot it would taste any different?

Than a 10p one? Yes, for very many reasons. If you have never grasped that there are differences between cheap bacon and bacon that costs more then I can’t be bothered trying to discuss it any further. Maybe try Googling it? Or try some of the bargain basement stuff next to something from a decent butcher? If you honestly can’t tell the difference (even before we factor in animal welfare) then you are a lost cause. I am not saying everyone can afford it or even that some very rich people can justify the extra cost, but to suggest they are the same undermines everything you post it is so idiotic. Things are often different. I bought my ex-wife a ten carrot ring...and she divorced me. 1

I will leave you to savor the flavour of your £10 carrots. The 10p ones are fine by me. And as for Noa £6 bacon baps. Just a total rip off when you can walk round the corner and buy the same thing for £2.50.

Are you honestly saying that if someone blindfolded you and gave you cheap Danepack or walls bacon you could t tell the difference between that and some bacon from one of the many good local butchers? Or a carrot straight from a farm shop compared to Tesco value? Edited August 22, 2022 by Asthehills

I’m saying Noa’s bacon certainly isn’t worth paying £4.50 extra for. 2

Thats quite different to your “bacon is bacon” statement that I was replying to.
