It has been planned for a while & I understand he has a new position abroad & let the department know at least a month ago

Great foresight or just really lucky timing?

But why announce it at all? He's just a humble functionary, nothing more.

Stuart Quayle is an excellent choice & 1 if the most competent senior civil servants

was Stuart  in the Chief Ministers office  and  our man in the EU  for a while , if it was him then he has his head screwed on  , and has a lot of respect , ! a wise choice

The department only existed because Brown needed something grandiose for Bell to do.

It would be interesting to know just how much this Dept has cost and spent during its existence vs what it actually brought into the Island.

That's in in hard currency, not potential advertising figures, Laurence.

Karen explained: ‘While I have enjoyed working in the public sector for more than 20 years, an opportunity has presented itself which will enable me to pursue personal interests. I sincerely thank all those who have provided me with support, encouragement and development opportunities during my career with the public service.’

Caldric Randall, Interim Chief Secretary, said: ‘I would like to thank Karen for her dedication and hard work not only within the Department but during her public service career. I wish her well in her future endeavours.’

its not a made up job , just watch them shoehorn him into Greenhow's  old chief secretary job , and without it being advertised

Not so sure as I think Caldric quite likes the role!! Also the whole position is going to be reviewed to establish what is required & will take until October apparently

I sincerely hope this really is a choice of her own making.

I had the pleasure of knowing this Lady during her tenure at MNH, she was a genuinely hard working, extremely well educated honest person.

Didn’t evidence at tribunal show that she was monitoring a Ranson, who she was meeting & reporting movements etc to Magson ?
