Preserve the countryside!

There is absolutely loads of countryside.  Way more than is needed.

Get more houses and amenities built.

The obsession with keeping huge amounts of unused green space is one of the things holding the island back.

It is indeed, but when that is being unreasonably threatened do we do something or do we just let it happen, as long as we are ok?

What do you suggest?  What some people think is threading what they like others see as progress.  There needs to be a balance.

To take you specific example of people coming home in the early hours then for somewhere to be attractive to parts of society it needs places that open late.  According to you that is only Douglas and that would make sense as it’s the biggest urban area and capital.

That means there are plenty of places that people who don’t want to be exposed to that can live instead but we can’t just refuse any progress or things that don’t suit certain individuals or we will be even more left behind than we already are.

The Isle of Man, has for years had late night (early morning) chucking out time.

Back in the early 80s it was the Palace Lido (Hi-Tec Disco) until around 1am and then into whispers for a couple of hours and if you were lucky some chips on the way home. Only difference back then, no-one was shouting into mobile phones.

Nonsense - our green biosphere is our USP

More of it does need to be used for afforestation, I'd agree with that

Did you miss the last debate?

Only this guy could come into a thread about what's good about the Isle of Man and start complaining 🤣

Now considering an oompah band on the prom late during Oktoberfest.

I thought we'd taken his batteries out but clearly someone has found the slot to insert a 50p now.
