Racism at The Palace?

@John Wright

It's because of the connection to William and the previous allegations made by Harry and Meghan that members of the Royal Family are racist.

That linked with Will and Kate being in the USA at the moment makes a compelling story to sell papers/get clicks.

I still think the questioning started okay but very definitely took a turn into racism especially with the insistence that the individual couldn't be British apparently based on her skin colour and dress.

Apparently the Lady in Waiting who allegedly made these comments was the same person tasked with preparing Meghan Markle for life as a member of the Royal Family...

Given the allegations made by Meghan then maybe this is a case of no smoke without fire.

Or maybe it’s not

Rac·ism
/ˈrāˌsiz(ə)m/

noun

  • 1.prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized:"a program to combat racism"

I don't really see prejudice, discrimination or antagonism in this? It may be argued that continuing to enquire about the heritage if someone dressed as an African with an adopted African name who is purporting to be British is antagonistic but I call it making conversation, remember that?

I went to the doctors the other day. I was beyond angry about his attitude and conduct, to the point that I thought he was talking to the wrong patient. I am still seriously upset. However, I cannot remember verbatim, line for line, exactly what was said.

This Palace crank was an obvious set up, probably by Netflix. The black woman has now admitted she recorded it.

Apart from that, her charity only helps black women. Is that not racist?

A large part of the UK royal coffers were / are stuffed from the profits of colonialism and racism.

From CNN news:- Gov. Gavin Newsom's panel on reparations is projecting that California could pay over $200,000 per person to Black residents to make up for past housing discrimination.

Newsom has aggressively pushed his plan to provide financial reparations to Black Californians whom he says must be financially compensated for decades of discrimination.

This issue will make the next presidential race very interesting indeed. De Santis and Trump are waging war on 'wokism."

It is yes, but probably excusable in that it can be argued that Black women may not feel comfortable talking to a white person, or feel that they may not be properly listened to?

This is the whole issue with racism, it comes down to feelings rather than hard facts most of the time! It's probably why people who generally deal with facts and can't always take feelings into consideration are often those considered to be racist?

She wasn't asked to talk about it, she was asked where she was from.

Which is generally how conversations start

And once she answered where she was from it was the followed up by the question "where are you really from?".  It is that point at which the conversation starts to be racist.

No it didn't. That happened in your head. It's already been stated it was a set up. Question could have been a bit clearer but definitely not racist
