Paul H
"FARMER BLASTS DOG OWNERS" FARMER BLASTS DOG OWNERS Source: iomonline.co.im When I saw this headline I could not help picturing in my mind an irate farmer shooting at dog owners? Are the Manx press that hard up for something to write about? Does a farmer having a moan about dog owners really justify such a hard-hitting headline? Having said that ... browsing through the forum ..there does seem to be a disproportionate amount of scandals going on !
alriteyessir
Is the sub plot that the high profile resident does not want dog walkers near his abode on that picturesque peninsula?
Alex
heh, the farmer doesn't even know if it was a dog or not. His stupid sheep fell in the sea so he blames a fictional dog owner. typical. has he ever heard of fencing one wonders?

WilDDog
I came across a field that had lots of half eaten dead sheep in it many years ago. Two dogs tore and ripped through them all, it was a horrible sight. I informed the farmer who eventually shot them both.

cabbyl ushtey
Just caught the end of a phone call on the Mannin Line about Langness. Did anyone ever see any evidence of dead sheep or see the culprits in action?
Alex
Nope, what did the caller say? I was surprised* IOM Newspapers went with this story - as Paul H says, it's merely a moan from a farmer about dogs, the farmer has no proof of any dogs being there nor any proof it were dogs that chased his sheep in the first place. It's a complete non-story. * for a nano-second and then I remembered we were talking about IOM Newspapers.
cabbyl ushtey
I believe the caller was concerned that this might be a ploy whereby the new occupant of the lighthouse cottages might deny access to the public. Seems a bit fishy to me.
