They take money off us in exchange for goods and services we apparently want and need. Government take the money of you at source and in every transaction you make through VAT, fuel duty, plastic bag taxes, sugar taxes etc. in exchange for underperforming services, over budget vanity projects and propping up little emperors within the CS.

One allows you to spend your money as and where you wish, one gives you no option at all. Endless commitees and enquiries into their own incompetence is like a 3 ring circus (Keys, LegCo & CS) run by clowns and no ring master (oooer).

The OFT still haven't got a grip on Manky Gas after 2 or 3 years and they're bleating about not getting involved with Tesco takeover?  FFS if IOMG was that worried about a local retail offering why did they let Chester Street fall into rack and ruin? At least the majority of jobs will have to stay local.

Just been reading on Facebook, that Manx Fairy Bridge Tea, and Manx Roast Coffee or blends, are not being stocked at ShopCo. Be prepared for much hysterical moaning, claims under the freedom to flourish strapline and demands for IOMG to interfere. For those that love these tea blends and coffee roasts, no doubt Robinsons sell them.

Well I hope so. I really enjoy the Glen Helen tea bags. Been buying them for years.
Be a shame if they no longer became available.

Guess I’ll still live though.

I would imagine that Tesco would have looked at the stock inventory and in particular and the amount that is sold. I wonder whether enough boxes of tea bags and jars/tins of coffee are sold as compared to other brands, all competing for a place on the supermarket shelf. Tesco may have plans to sell other goods/products which they sell in UK stores but don’t in the IOM due to store space constraints.

They likely can’t make enough tea bags to supply 9 stores though. That’s probably why they’ve been dropped.

Surely they have already been supplying 9 stores?

Exactly, Cuuey hasn’t got a clue. Lots of local suppliers won’t make the cut because they won’t be able to meet the exacting requirements for H&S, standards that Tesco demand. probably very few will want to spend the money required to upgrade etc.

That was the reason they stopped stocking Manx meat, wasn't it?

Rightly or wrongly, I thought Tesco were obliged to buy local produce when possible.... before the "sellout". Then again, local produce is okay, but imports are normally cheaper and more reliable.

Is a potato from Yorkshire or Spain more reliable than one from Kirk Michael?
