Google AdSense prompt for consent (GDPR)

Recommended Posts

Shortly, we will enable Google's personal data consent prompt to access and process your cookies and other web fingerprint data to serve and manage personalised advertisements on ManxForums.com. You will be familiar with the type of prompt which is seen on social networking sites, online shops and forums.

From Google
Beginning on 16 January 2024, publishers and developers using Google AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob will be required to use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) that has been certified by Google and has integrated with the IAB's Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) when serving ads to users in the European Economic Area or the UK. More information at https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/13554116?hl=en-GB

The Prompt
The prompt will look similar to the example below and be displayed the first time you visit the site and when it cannot detect that you have previously answered the prompt. If you clear your browser's web cache, use an incognito/private session, or a different browser or device, you will be prompted again.
