Chinahand
I have to say I find it all a bit difficult to comprehend. Its a sad sad world where you can go - well at least ONLY 100 people have died. For the extremists its great "publicity" and has had a big effect - India's stock market has had to close etc. My only hope is that it won't be seen as a victory, but help change their supporters' minds and show them these are just random killers going out to cold bloodily massacre people. They've very much failed to achieve what seems to be their aim - killing large numbers of foreigners - and have ended up mainly killing locals. The sad fact is that these religious nutters view the locals as idolatrous infidels. Makes me sick. What mind set would celebrate this?
Pat Ayres
Anybody that can justify slaughter in the name of their god, that's who and that's why we must eradicate all religions immediately.

%age
I really do wish the BBC said they were talking about a place that was once known as Bombay. Am I a cunt for saying that? Well, I am of at least of average intelligence but honestly I hadn't a fucken clue where Mombai was. This Mumbai was a place entirely new to me. Not knowing where the hell it was I didn't, basically, give a fuck. I honestly did not know where in the world it was until an Indian friend (who is from the Isle of Man . . . ) informed me just now. PC or not fucken PC, give us auld cunts who actually give a damn, some sort of fucken clue. (BBC)

(BBC) You obviously don't "give a damn" if you didn't "give a fuck" that 100 odd people died because your geography isn't up to scratch. You've had since 1996 to have found out Bombay changed it's name to Mumbai. Average intelligence bordering on senility perhaps?
%age
Aye laddie, I maybe can't deny that. But if yo want a head-to head, on . . . I don't know . . programming computer languages from circa 1980, local Isle of Man politics circa 1876, National UK politics, mortgage interest rates, FTSE100 shares for the last 20 years . . . or whatever . . . . I'll give you a run for your money. Maybe. My last post was genuine and was with good intent. Me senile? Maybe. But I surely know you could learn a lot about how the rest of our society live by taking yourself out of your ego-driven self-centred bubble for a change. Intellectual as that bubble may be. La_Dolce_Vita
I now await La_Dolce_Vita,s defence of them stating they are misunderstood oppressed colonial latent homosexuals who have a right to fight to state thier case and the oppressive tourists brought it on themselves You have a peculiar need to bring up homosexuality or my comments relating to it, don't quite know what that is about. Though I would hope that the above is not serious as if you think I could advance such an argument as that based on my previous posts then you really are quite clueless in understanding my politics and in understanding oppression. Homosexual people could never be capable of such a thing, no, these men are STRAIGHT! It doesn't seem to serve a purpose. But then I would suppose that such people are so heavily indoctrinated first by believing in God and then in how to follow and be true to that God that they will do anything. Though certainly the targets are very much influenced by the political goals of the same people. Be interesting to find out what group is behind the shootings, probably will be Al Qaeda. I think it is too early to make assumptions on their motivations, though I haven't checked the latest on the news.
Ringwraith
Witnesses state that at least some of the Mumbai attackers were "foreign looking, fair skinned" men, and "They did not look Indian, they looked foreign. One of them, I thought, had blonde hair. The other had a punkish hairstyle. They were neatly dressed," http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7752625.stm Maybe Gordon Brown is right, and the Icelandic bankers and conservative frontbenchers are coming to get us! P.K.
Well, it could be a swansong from the Tamil Tigers. They are about to be destroyed as a coherent force and this lot allegedly arrived by boat.

They are about to be destroyed as a coherent force and this lot allegedly arrived by boat. I thought it had been already established that they are Pakistani. I heard they had Pakistani accents and my friend in Bangalore seems to be of the impression that they came over from Karachi.

I think they've even stopped referencing this name change in pub quizzes because it happened so long ago. It's not the BBC's fault that you don't absorb information from T.V., books, newspapers, radio etc.
