Speckled Frost Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 So why is it when you clear your throat someone else has to do the same? Same applies with yawning.
Observer Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Maybe it's "mirroring" - an apparently friendly body language action.
Speckled Frost Posted August 18, 2004 Author Posted August 18, 2004 But throat clearing isn't really body language
Ean Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 When you see someone else yawn your body recognises it and thinks that there isn't enough oxygen in the air so you do the same...something like that anyway. Google it, there is a proper scientific explanation i'm sure.
Guest Rox Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 That's a pretty damn fine explanation all on it's own. Well done young Ean.
