Bill Posters Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 My vote goes to :- Ecclefechan I'm sure it really is a lovely place.
Mission Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 You could probably apply it to a lot of German / Austrian place names too I reckon. Welcome to the blue club btw
Mission Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I think you'll have to go a long way to top this German place name though... Schwerin.
Minnie Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Not exactly on thread, but as we're talking about places with rude sounding names......... http://www.i-r-genius.com/rudeplaces.html
Mission Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 You've spoilt it for me now. There was I, happily trawling through my Reader's Digest Illustrated Atlas of the World, desperately seeking out rude sounding place names and up you pop, with a url to the lot! Sobs.
Minnie Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Awwww, I'm sorry Mission. You'll be trawling through telephone directories of the world next, looking for rude surnames
Minnie Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Here's some to start with.............. http://www.b3ta.com/features/realnames/ Lisa Minge, Gynaechologist..........talk about having a name to suit your job!
purrrrrrrrrrry Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Surely one of the funniest Father Ted programmes ever was the one where they were in a car park with a "No Swearing" sign up, but they were having a bit of an argument? Who could forget the words: You Fupping Baxter! Grasshole! And no doubt heaps more, that I can't remember right now
Cret Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Goddam cakesucker - kiss my ash, muddyfunster! Fun you, earhole! I think films are only improved when the swearing is dubbed out for ridiculous words. It's funning hilarious! I loved all the things they used to do in Viz with people sending in pictures of rude named products or places. I think they're great, things like maybe "Schitt Mineral Water", or "Cheesy Bells - savoury corn snacks" perhaps...
Bill Posters Posted August 18, 2004 Author Posted August 18, 2004 Welcome to the blue club btw smile.gif Thanks, 'blue'.
blue kipper Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Talking of rude surnames, there's a defender who plays football for QPR called Danny Shittu. Seriously.
Mission Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Some of the Olympic athletes have rather amusing names. So far, I've spotted Fani and Annus on the Tv coverage tonight.
