Last Ten Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 I fancy doing this!!! But i don't think my workmates and I have the bottle Fire Service Line Rescue event Last Ten
Observer Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Mission would do it I reckon - he's an old hand at charity abseils and suchlike these days ;-)
Mission Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Hmm, looks interesting. I had heard about this and did consider it but it's on a Saturday and it's difficult for me to get cover (and after the abseil debacle, I'd rather not waste any more time). If they do one on a Sunday, I'd be up for it no problem as I quite enjoy the aerial runway.
Mission Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Well, it said on the site that you could go again "if you dare". I shouldn't think they'd let you go more than twice, unless it's a pretty quiet day of course.
Mission Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Heh, I'll sponsor you a fiver if you do it dude.
WilDDog Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Don't make me have to look for sponsors dude, I'm lazy like that. Go on make it the whole £150.
Mission Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 You don't want much do you??? With the amount of people you know, it should be easy. Take the form to teh pub with you one night. I'll raise it to a tenner anyway, just another £140 to find now.
StuartT Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Looks good. But a bit old hat though. Having said that, wouldn't mind a go. Only problem is actually raising the sponsorship money, that's the difficult part. The line rescue team looks interesting itself.
Bill Posters Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 I've sponsored someone today for this. They have my admiration.

Guest Rox Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Me fick. What do you have to do? Is it a hold on for your dear life and slide down the rope kind of thing? I quite fancy it actually but my upper body strength isn't that good. Looks exciting anyway.
ykstarr Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 that looks frickin fantastic!! we used to have a 'tarzan' swing of sorts as kids - tower two stories high, climbed into a rope that was attached to a cable going to the ground and jumped. sort of like this fire man thing but not as safe! looking back on it, i'm surprised we were allowed to do things like that...hmm, health & safety...??
