zephyr Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Let’s have one last cup of coffee before we have to part A lit and un-smoked cigarette smoulders in the dark Emotions well up inside me don’t want to face my fears One last cup of coffee won’t help to drown my tears The cigarette’s burnt out now and you have gone away We tried to talk things through but we had nothing left to say I swallowed hard to stop the pain as you walked out through the door The coffee cold and untouched sits where you left it on the floor The smell of your perfume still lingers in the air I long for the feeling as I sat and stroked your hair Curled up close together two people almost one Now there’s only loneliness, now that you are gone So one more cup of coffee and one more cigarette One more day of living without the love I can’t forget
