devil Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I was out riding my Bikecycle today and i found a Nokia 8310 lying on the floor, so being the guy i am i picked it up finished my riding session and went home. I then looked through the phone book for "home" and i dident find a contact under that name so i searched for "m" and mom mb poped up , so i phoned "mom" and asked if her daughter had lost her phone she says yes, so i inform her that i have it and she can pick it up from the times i was free. and she says thats great i gave her my address and she said she would be around in the morning to get it. So i leave it down stairs after informing my dad about the situation and next thing i know i go down stairs and ask my mum where it has gone and she tells me that the girl came around picked up the phone and went! thats it. Never even said to thank me or xxxx! . I woulden't have minded a tenner either! i could have sold it for £50 easy! but i couldent im not that sly. Oh well thats some steam let loss. Hehehe
Uni Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 You will go to riding heaven Dev mate, don't worry!
purrrrrrrrrrry Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Hmmm, maybe she lost it "on purpose"? Some girls are like that... Steer clear fella You'll get your reward in another way.
monkey_magic Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I bet you didn't even offer to deliver it to her house, did you?
MrsTrellisfromNorthWales Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 People who aren't full of greatness get on my wick too. When ever I talk to them, they're really ungrateful.
Speckled Frost Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Most houses these days are ungrateful. All gas fires.
Stavros Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Dev, Maybe she lost more than just her mobile? Stav.
Observer Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 That explains why she left so quickly - must've felt silly in front of your mum.
Guest Rox Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Dev, what you did was lovely. Never mind that you didn't get thanked properly - at least you did it and are able to bask in a warm glow of satisfaction. Either that or you pished yourself again.

Hehehe <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I found a mobile the other day and left it with Douglas Police Station - (had a phone call a couple of hours later from a very grateful lady - so my experience was a bit nicer than yours Dev). Aren't we real good Citizens by the way!!
RC-Drift.com Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I found a fat wallet at the airport once and handed it in. A couple of days later we had a phone call from a very greatful owner who gave us £10 reward Just the fact that we made someones day was enough
The Old Git Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I found a fat wallet at the airport once You didn't stick it on a diet to see if it would lose pounds?

Mission Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Well done Dev, you did the right thing and even if you didn't receive a material reward or any thanks for what you did, your karma scales will be swinging over to the good side for a while.
