Minnie Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 There's nothing to say they'd be violent is there? I prefer to keep an open mind on such things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know that, Mission, but I'm just a big scaredy pants about stuff like that in general, I have a very vivid imagination when it comes to aliens, ghosts etc. I'm still afraid of the dark
Mission Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Ahh, you'll be alright Minnie, we'll look after you. Anyway, who's to say the aliens will come here, we may well end up finding them first!
Minnie Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 Anyway, who's to say the aliens will come here, we may well end up finding them first! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh my god, I hope not..........I'd sh*t me pants!
Mission Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Oh my god, I hope not..........I'd sh*t me pants! Why?
Rog Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I would be horrified at the prospect of any contact whatsoever with any alien race that, having the choice, decided that it wanted to interrelate in any way with the human race.
puddy Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 If there's life on Earth, then there's life somewhere else. After all we came from bacteria flying around on comets and some of it must have landed in other places like Mars and that, or the man in the Moon. I used to do a lot of stargazing when I was going through a nerdy-phase but I really loved it, the universe is much larger than we can imagine and we live in a poxy little galaxy which is relatively new. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed that some of the bigger boys from the harder and older galaxys don't get the urge to anal probe. I think I'd rather see a ghost anyway.
Observer Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Here's an interesting little tit bit for you all (slightly off thread, but sounds good nonetheless) Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise are set to make a film of War of The Worlds. Report from AOL as follows:- SCARY ALIENS JOIN CRUISE IN REMAKE Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg are putting their heavyweight clout behind a remake of HG Wells' War of the Worlds, and Cruise insists the aliens will be much grumpier than in ET. He said he was chatting with the director when Spielberg suddenly said: "You know what? I think we should do War Of The Worlds together." Cruise added: "I just looked at him and said, 'Oh my God'. I was so excited. I've never made a sci-fi movie like this before. "It's the kind of movie as a kid you cut as many lawns as you can so you can get the money to see the film on day one. "The Martians in Wells' book are evil and ugly, not Spielberg's usual gentle, bug-eyed ETs. "When you see Steven's movies, there's always humanity. "But it's going to be exciting, it's going to be really scary, and it's going to maintain the tone of HG Wells' book. "These guys are coming to dominate Earth." Should be good me thinks!
Bill Posters Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I think I'd rather see a ghost anyway. All that potters wheel stuff drives me crazy.
Tee Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 If there is life out there WTF would they want to come all that way to see a planet thats killing its self? Am sure there are far more intresting life forms than ourselfs, we havent really got that much to offer either. Unless of course they're comming just to have a laugh and to steal some grolsh and the odd yokel or 2...
Observer Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 ..... or unless they are a meat eating species suffering local production difficulties....
Guest Rox Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I hope they don't get into my oven then. I've got a casserolley thing doing away in there. I'd hate them to get their claws on it. Mind you - it's got Guinness in it. I can't see them liking that to be honest.
Observer Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Yum - what time you serving then Rox? Hmmm??? Buddy????? xxx
Minnie Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 I don't think the aliens would be interested in casserole............... http://www.stevewhite.org/stuff/AlienFoodSymbols.html
