manxman2
so whose alternate I.D. are you then doc..?? as soon as your asked to verify any of your selfassured assertions you turn into a retard posting joke links either verify the veracity of your claims or fuck off simple. virtually every bit of data i will put forward will be from acclaimed physicists from lockhead skunkworks{ NASAs 40 billion dollar a year contractors} or nasa etc and all will be verified and sourced .. is that too much competition dave..?? if you cannot do the same then your points no matter how well they have been copied / pasted and edited mean nothing. instead of verifying your sources or your qualifications just carry on taking the piss as thats all it is without substance. it took 6 hours just to collate and read the data in the links above about the mission the equipment and the daily shuttle logs so that there is no future speculation just facts Edited June 17, 2009 by manxman2

Dr_Dave
so whose alternate I.D. are you then doc..?? Look behind you... virtually every bit of data i will put forward will be from acclaimed physicists from lockhead skunkworks{ NASAs 40 billion dollar a year contractors} or nasa etc and all will be verified and sourced .. is that too much competition dave..?? You're cute when you're angry. Actually, you haven't posted any credible sources, and you've dismissed sources that have been presented to you (by Chinahand for example, or do you still claim a "deafening silence" on the "Alien Spacecraft" hoax?) Similarly, I haven't presented any sources because I haven't presented any data. I've merely provided a mechanism by which the video can be explained using common sense and basic physics. Others have presented quotes from astronauts, who were actually there, talking about what the objects actually are - you've dismissed these. I always find it's good to compare the two sides in "debates" like this, because you can tend to get sidetracked. Here's the official explanation: "The hand held UV camera (verified) was focused on the distant (verified by China's trig) tether. Objects on trajectories consistent with small fragments accompanying the shuttle are observed and identified by the astronaut filming (verified, in the film). The objects are known small by the presence of notches indicating unresolved point sources reflecting UV light (verified by Slim's video link and by the film itself)." Alternatively, here's your explanation: "The hand held UV camera was focused on the distant tether. Objects are seen in the field of view swarming around the tether. Objects are a mile or more in diameter. These mile wide objects reflect only in the UV, but they are not seen by people on the ground using UV observations. The objects also modify their shape based on where they are in the camera field of view, even when the camera is moved to a different position. NASA choose to cover-up the presence of hundreds of mile wide invisible objects by releasing the video of them to the public. People with qualifications don't spot the existence of these obvious mile wide objects, but untrained amateurs on YouTube do." If I've misrepresented your position, please correct me. Chinahand
virtually every bit of data i will put forward will be from acclaimed physicists from lockhead skunkworks{ NASAs 40 billion dollar a year contractors} or nasa etc and all will be verified and sourced .. is that too much competition dave..?? lets start here first with the technical side of the shuttle and its equipment. http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/shuttle/missio...ion-sts-75.html the experimental tether was a joint venture between usa and italy and showed theoretically great promise as part of interstella travel of the future as theoretically a never ending fuel supply in space would mean faster than light speeds as theoretically there is nothing to slow it down and it would never stop increasing in speed unless they wanted to. Just a query MM2 - was it skunk works, or NASA who verified and sourced the bit bolded above? It shows an amazing lack of understanding of tethers, and relativity . ... Oh and just a to clarify - are you really saying that because the camera used to film the "technology" was sensitive to UV light therefore the "technology" would be invisible to normal light? Here are some pictures of invisible flowers filmed in UV light - of course you can't see them in visible light these are special invisible flowers only the bees can find - and clever us with our special UV cameras of course. Lao
theoretically a never ending fuel supply in space would mean faster than light speeds as theoretically there is nothing to slow it down and it would never stop increasing in speed unless they wanted to. Never ending fuel supplies and faster than light travel? Did i accidentally click the wrong link? No this is definately creationism/intelligent design, perhaps i have just stumbled onto a derail of epic proportions. im guessing that we must be discussing an episode of star trek, better warm up the heisenberg compensators when dealing with those priveliged frames of reference, and dont concern yourself with causality, simply posit that FTL travel causes space to fold together thus avoiding the need to explain why no time travel occured! and never ending fuel supplies? not before i finish my own perpetual motion engine, im so close any day now i will smash the second law of thermodynamics and the law of consevation of energy and bury them in the shallow grave they deserve for having plagued mankind for so long! you may consider the above to be sarcasm, but in truth it was a lot better than just sitting here facepalming myself repeatedly at some of what i have just read. i will never get those minutes of my life back. Slim
im guessing that we must be discussing an episode of star trek Of course! That's the answer! Those objects aren't ice, they're tachyon particles! The shuttle crew just needed to reverse the stream and the aliens would have been revealed!

Was it they who came up with this gem: "theoretically a never ending fuel supply in space would mean faster than light speeds as theoretically there is nothing to slow it down and it would never stop increasing in speed unless they wanted to"? If so, it would appear that their acclaimed physicists are actually 13 year olds. 13 year olds who don't have even a basic knowledge of physics. Or access to a textbook. Or the internet. Or a more knowledgeable friend they can ask about these things.

VinnieK
They read Janes Defence though, so don't mess with 'em! Good point. I fully retract my previous statement for fear of being lynched by the self loathing science hacks and shuffling mounds of deathtech obsessed corduroy who make up the readership of that venerable apocalypse themed alternative to the Beano. manxman2
ofcourse there is slim but i was not prepared properly to have you and others pepper me with dozens of different Qs from all different angles. now i am nearly there. i put put a thread up on the tether incident once i am finished discussing it with jim oberg and have all relative links to hand .. the trouble is as i will clearly demonstrate to you all is that after revealing source links to oberg the links become inactive .. they either get re-tagged and you find them again in a different place or you dont .. eitherway its pretty freaky how within 24 hours of a solidly presented knockdown of his presented data gets dissappeared .. so go on have a good lol etc wierdo dickhead etc .. just ignore the fact i said i will PROVE this has happened repeatedly during the last week. i have hard copies as backups now before presentation. Slim
ofcourse there is slim but i was not prepared properly to have you and others pepper me with dozens of different Qs from all different angles. Right, so the point to the video you just linked is? The only point I get from it is that many people don't understand some basic principles of physics. i put put a thread up on the tether incident once i am finished discussing it with jim oberg and have all relative links to hand .. the trouble is as i will clearly demonstrate to you all is that after revealing source links to oberg the links become inactive .. they either get re-tagged and you find them again in a different place or you dont .. eitherway its pretty freaky how within 24 hours of a solidly presented knockdown of his presented data gets dissappeared .. so go on have a good lol etc wierdo dickhead etc .. just ignore the fact i said i will PROVE this has happened repeatedly during the last week. i have hard copies as backups now before presentation. lol, wierdo, dickhead Can you answer the point I made the other day? Why didn't the UV ground camera, which did pick up the tether, not record your green men?
