It claims to index more pages than Google, yet doesn't return any results for lots of searches that Google pulls up relevant things for. How does that work then?

It's easy to have more pages in your index if you don't clear out duplicates and spam sites. Agreed, Google seems to be more relevant for now, but they've had quite some time to refine their search and Cuil is still in beta. If they get the funding and improve their relevance they could be an interesting alternative ... it's certainly more interesting than what the other mainstream search engines have come up with (Yahoo/MSN Live etc)

 

I still have a soft spot for http://www.searchme.com/ .. have you guys tried it?
