zephyr Posted July 4, 2004 Posted July 4, 2004 Talk to me of the regal splendour That once adorned this land An emerald jewel embedded in an azure sea A periphery of silver sand Tell me the stories of what life used to be Of the tiniest flowers, of the greatest trees Describe the artists palette, the colours at his command Tell me of the rainbow picture created by his hand Describe to me the scent of celandine How the fuchsia ladies danced Reveal to me Mother natures secrets Keep my minds eye captivated, entranced Draw for me an image to stop this mental pain Sketch for me a picture, an attempt to keep me sane While death and despondency gathers all around Dream for me an icon so I can tread this desolate land My time on earth grows short now My life it ebbs away Please illustrate an image for me That I can take with me on the way The earth she is dying The soil lies barren and dead Overpopulated by humans All of them must be fed Farewell sweet earth I’ll miss you I was one of your sons Goodbye sweet earth I kiss you Your holocaust has began
