zephyr Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Can’t do with rhyming couplets They’re getting on my tits Poetry should be freestyle Instead of coming out in bits I can write a poem in four lines It aint a problem to me I can make any word rhyme that you want As long they are short, succinct and to the point and don’t go on too long so you lose your breath when reading, do you see? Poetry should tell a story It should tell a tale For goodness sake people Stop reading like a snail (slowly that is) I don’t talk like this normally Usually my convo’s are quick and away But soon as I lay finger to keyboard The rhyming seems to stray Oh xxxx I’ve done it again ain’t I? The words have taken over me Oh for the love of the wee man Let me write like Wordsworth, Shakespeare or Harri webb Anyone but ME
TheDruid-3X3 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Awens to All: I am a Canadian living in the City of Surrey in our British Columbia. In June of 2006, I did a Family Ancestral Pilgrimage to our Isle of Mann since my GG Grandfather came from Isle of Mann. His name (as is mine) was Corrin. I even stopped in Peel, stayed in the Camping Park, and did some Tarot Card readings for some local Girls in the nearby Tavern just west of the Camping Park while watching the World Cup of Football. The next morning, I climbed the Corrins Hill to have an afternoon of seeing Peel from our Corrin's Tower.: And when I was arriving, I found two of the Biggest Ravens I have ever seen in my Life!: Those Ravens made the Ravens at Tower of London look scrawny!!! Anyways, I am posting on this thread that I found on this message board because for some reason, you message board wont let me post a New Topic. Maybe it is because I am a Newbie and maybe you have some Rule that Newbies can not start Topics at first. The thing I am interested about is this: I am a Druid who is a member of The Druid Network and I am researching Ancient Celtic Triads of Wisdom. I have done searches and found that there are loads of Irish and Welsh Triads of Wisdom, but I am interested to know if there is such a thing as Ancient Manx Triads of Wisdom. Here are three links to an example of Ancient Irish Triads of Wisdom from a Book that was published in 1906 by Kuno Meyer: http://ia301526.us.archive.org/0/items/tri...d00meyeuoft.pdf http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/sengoidelc/donncha/trecheng/ http://www.ucc.ie/celt/published/T103006/ The thing is, I have found loads of Irish and Welsh Triads, but when I Googled "Manx Triads", I could not find anything. Is there any such thing as Ancient Manx Triads of Wisdom Poetry that has been Chronicalled or Written Down somewhere, maybe in Peel's House of Mannanin or in your Little Dungeon Museum that is located on the walk halfway from House of Mannanin to St. Patrick's Isle. I am intrested in writing a Book about Ancient Celtic Triads of Wisdom and if there are Ancient Manx Triads of Wisdom, I would like to find out about them so that I can include them into my Book. Can anyone sort me out? TheDruid-3X3
TheDruid-3X3 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Just to let ya all know, someone has popped up on another message boards that I am registered onto who is an expert on Triads of Wisdom named Daire from America who sorted out my Confusion. It seems that the Triads of Wisdom that were published in the 1906 book "Triads of the Irish" by Kuno Meyer are also Sacred Triads of the Manx and the Scottish as well. So Sinnsreachd to Daire! So Sinnsreachd to Daire! If true, and something about it just sounds a little iffy (I'm willing to bet that there's scant little evidence for this, written or otherwise, and is basically based on an inference from the fact that we were long ago once in the sphere of Dublin's influence), "are also sacred" should be replaced with "were sacred"

TheDruid-3X3 And you've summoned me again... First, I am not an expert on the Triads, just gifted with common sense and not afraid of reading boring academic texts. Second, most people don't call them "Triads of Wisdom", just "Triads" or "Irish Triads", "Welsh Triads", etc. as appropriate. I never said that "Triads of Ireland" by Kuno Meyer also contained Manx and Scottish Triads. As the title states, they are Triads of Ireland gleaned from the various manuscripts. Dáire

I am glad to have achieved that Status after my Slow Timid Start with Manx Forums where I would make a Post or Two then Disappear for a few months. But now that I feel comfortable around here, I am now Posting More Regularly making enough Good Posts to make it becoming a Senior Member. Guramied to All! 3X3
