Mission Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 How come you're using a capital 'S' now steven? Welcome by the way.
Cret Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 You cant delete/terminate peoples membership without good cause or reason please be fair. No idea why you might have been deleted before even posting but I think you'll find that they can delete anyone without having to give a reason, just like shops/businesses/nightclubs don't have to provide you with their services nor give a reason why if they don't wish to. Better luck this time though! Maybe they self destruct after a long period of inactivity?!
WilDDog Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 You cant delete/terminate peoples membership without good cause or reason please be fair. Personally, I think the owner of the site is doing the right thing deleting dormant accounts, that's if they are deleting them. I mean most accounts that lie for 2 months are most likely a trolls account a troll biding his/her time to choose the right moment to try and stir things up.
Declan Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Steven you are the newest member and we have 221 members, yet your membership is number 270. So quite a few memberships have been deleted. Now you may choose to see something sinister in this, but a more plausable explanation is that the admins have deleted the membership of those that have been members for a while but haven't posted. This is good housekeeping and if these forums last as long Manx Net it avoids the situation there where 2/3rds of the 3000 registered posters had never posted.
YetAnotherManxForum Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 with all due respect Declan, we aren't anywhere near 3000, not even 10% yet. It's sad if steven has been terminated, maybe U. has set the settings a tad harshly.
Declan Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 But if someone who registered months ago and was subsequently deleted, suddenly wants to post there is nothing stopping them re-registering as Steven has done, it is not great hardship.
Observer Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Unisol did have a tidy up and I don't see the problem with it.
steven ! Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Steven, Steven HIiii!!! Sorry, I've done it yet again. I took your name in vane (on a nother thread) but didn't mean it!!) really Rock 'n' Roll lad, You've dragged yourself away from the chatty place. (ManxunziChatten bitte) !! Hey. STEVO. STEVO (sorry, I'll controlmeself....hi, Steven) (I'm the REAL steven ! btw (by the way)) (it don't matter if you can't spell but always close the bracket if you open it!!)
steven ! Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 uh ohhhh. Chief moderator is online and reading. Warning bells are going!!!! Edited to add Unisol, don't listen to what they tell you about steven (or Steven as he now may be - could be imposter, punctuation and capitalization are major things when we are talking fourums imo) there can only ever be one. steven ok.
Uni Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 If you register, and do not validate your account within 7 days - it is deleted. So if someone signs up with a fake email address, they therefore cannot validate them self resulting in a dud account. We don't want dud accounts, taking up usernames etc - so they are pending for seven days before deletion. Sorry for your troubles, its obviously very important if you haven't used it since then.
steven ! Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 declan on here too. alright me ol' china. Heyyy . . . . I still don't think it is he though. I can tell!! Sorry to make like a chat room but Steven here too!!! Noyt real. Imposter
Declan Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Notice how Steven's posts are written in fairly standard English and Steven !'s posts are a load of gibberish. Do you the think the little microrobots, who Unisol employs to deliver membership details, got confused and mixed up the details and gave them to the wrong Stevens?
