Redundant Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) I like [and love] lots of different genres of music. When my heads not quite right, I go back to first loves. This is Jussi Bjorling singing "Au Fond Du Temple Saint" from Bizet's "The Pearl Fishers"...never heard any other version of this aria that could match it, until recently. I literally can't choose between the two version, but hey, I don't have to, it really does not matter: The second version is Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel, presented here: Edited January 10 by Redundant 2 Quote
Chinahand Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) I suspect this is an acquired taste, but this version, on David Byrne's quizzical album Growing Backwards, is on my play list. Edited January 9 by Chinahand Quote
Redundant Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Wow...blown away. For me your link didn't work but I managed to find a version based on you description, and include it here. I get your point about it being an acquired taste, his counterpart is Rufus Wainwright, whom I have long enjoyed. This is a truly excellent rendition of "Au Fond du temple saint". I appreciate the expansion of my thinking [accidentally learned how to post video here correctly, so thanks for that also!]. Edited January 10 by Redundant 1 Quote
Redundant Posted January 10 Posted January 10 This is the first time I heard Rufus Wainwright, an amazing song from Stephen Foster, a best seller in the song sheet era! 2 Quote
