...The only person on the IOM who does not have a mobile telephone? I just wondered like...

I kinda lost my manx 'pay as ye go' sim card a while back and as yet can't be bothered getting one... Those nice people at Virgin kindly replaced my UK pay as you go sim card after I lost it this week, all because I registered it online when I bought it.. I even get to see the call records, which (Get this one Manx Telecom) includes records of text messages... all for nothing!

...rant over!

I'm also on ProntoGo - bought my first topup card in four months today, spent £6 instantly by phoning my girlfriend. Well worth it... not

Sometimes wonder about pay as you go, especially as my bill this month was a whopping £68!! Eeek!

That said I'd end up spending as much but just not having any credit on my phone when I need it.

Damn our local lack of competition...

What do MT do for us?? naff all! My PAYG Virgin chip cost £10, I got £5 free call time and they never turn it off. Trinity lost her virgin chip - they sent her a new one FOC...would MT do that?? like fish, they bleed us dry.

My friend had made several lenghty calls to South America.......landline to landline £1 per minute.....fec me thats £35 +vat for a half hour call. Thieves!

The CC dont care that we are being robbed, I've complained about mobile costs (and various other things re MT) previously, the letter in response advised 'your concerns have been noted and we will take all these issues into consideration' - geeze thanks.....FOR NOTHING

Well I can't really fault MT's service as they've been very helpful whenever I've dealt with them.

Just a shame they are such ripoff call costs for mobiles. That said, I'm still using the thing despite the cost.

they never turn it off
Erm wouldn't be so sure about that, look at the bottom of this page

Virgin

Customers who choose not to use their phones after 180 days may be disconnected and lose their number.

There is possibly one good thing about MT, and that is their buying on-line facility for Pay as you go. As a £20 top-up voucher only costs £19 online, after a few months you are effectively getting a free one when you have bought 20.
