The Old Git Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Glad to see that the European Court of Justice has annulled the decision by the EU finance ministers not to take action against Germany and France over their continuing budget deficits. "The council of finance ministers cannot depart from the rules laid down by the treaty" I don't see how Germany and France could push for the inclusion of the rule, expect other countries to take painful action to comply with it, and then break it themselves when the going gets a bit tough.
