KaytCuttagh Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Hello. Can someone lend me a helping hand please? I've been researching for days on how to pronounce Kayt Cuttagh. What I have found so far, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that Kayt is pronounced like Ket? I couldn't find ANYTHING on Cuttagh though. I am researching the Manx Cat for a project. They are my favorite breed of cat. I do know that Kayt Cuttagh means Manx Cat. Thank you!! Joanie

Joanie 'Cutt' as in 'cut', and the 'gh' in 'agh' isn't found in English, but is the same as the 'ch' in Scottish 'loch' or German 'Bach'. A better translation, in my opinion, is 'Kayt Manninagh' (same 'gh' as in 'cuttagh') or 'stubbin', pronounced as it looks.
